A series of four short seminar workshops over one day for new or existing users of Microsoft Excel who want to get more from the program. You can attend one or more sessions. You do not need to attend earlier sessions to attend the later ones. Bring your own laptop.
We will cover Excel versions 2003, 2007 and 2010.
You will learn to:
Session 1 – 09:00 to 10:30 – Formulas and Linking Spreadsheets
- Reference other cells in formulas
- Simplify complex formulas using names
- Work with multiple sheets in a file
- Use formulas to extract data from multiple spreadsheets
Session 2 – 10:45 to 12:15 – Using Lists Effectively
- Work with lists and filtering
- Filter out unnecessary entries from long lists
- Easily create sub-totals on list entries
- View different sections of large lists and compare entries
- Easily remove duplicate entries, and split up columns of data
Session 3 – 13:15 to 14:45 – Charts and Pivot Tables
- Easily create and update charts
- Use different chart types to show figures better
- Establish trends in your data
- Create Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts to analyse your data
Session 4 – 15:00 to 16:30 – Built-In Functions and Controlling Data
- Use the IF Function to control cell contents
- Selectively count and sum data
- Use LOOKUP functions search for you
- Use data validation to control data entry
- Set up spreadsheets for non-Excel users to fill in
