Extra Fields and Field Names

I have created some extra fields and now realise that I need to rename them. How can I do this?

The Contacts Organizer PBE will not let you do this, However, we have created a Field Renaming Tool that will do this; however, it is provided on an as-is basis. Take a look in our download area.

I want to record extra information about specific contacts such as spouse names and if they have children. Can I create extra fields for that?

The 30 extra fields are for information pertaining to the whole record. Use the notes field on the Contacts tab to save notes about spouses and children for each contact.

In Contacts organizer PBE I would like to modify some of the field names (not the extra fields but those in the program). Is that possible?

It is, but you do so at your own risk. We cannot be held responisble for any errors that might result. Look in the folder where the Contacts Organizer PBE is installed (by default this is C:\Program Files\Contacts organizer PBE). You should see a folder called Region. Look inside that folder and you will see several files with the same name but different extension. The file relevant to you is indicated by your country extension. So UK users need to edit the RegionInfo.uk file, United States users need to edit the RegionInfo.us file, and so on. We would recommend that you make a copy of the file first before editing. You need to open up the file in the Notepad program.

In the file you will see the [PageTitles] section corresponding to the different page titles then sections corresponding to field names that appear on the relevant pages. Do not change any section title - the text within square brackets. Do not delete any lines and do not add any lines. Only modify the field names.
